I ‘ve lived the first 30 years of my life without wandering near the kitchen. My mom was worried that I couldn’t be married off because who on earth would spend his life with a woman that cannot cook! BUT I found one. Ah ha! He makes dinner for me everyday. Until one day, I wanted to try out! My mom said if I can read, I can do anything I want! So I went for it, searched in the vast internet for easy recipes, hoping for something feasible, maybe starting with desserts before involving in meat or poultry! And I found this!
I followed it to a tee and the result was rather satisfying. You should give it a go! Ingredients: 4 egg yolks 50gr white sugar 80gr vegetable oil 70ml orange juice 100gr cake flour (sifted) 3/4 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 15gr finely grated orange zest 6 egg whites 1/3 tsp cream of tartar 50gr white sugar Prepare all ingredients and preheat oven to 200 degree Celcius Prepare a 21 cm loose bottom chiffon pan, mine is bigger because I don’t have the exact chiffon pan with the core tube longer than the mould so I need a bigger one to give some space for cooling Whisk egg yolks and sugar till thick and pale, add corn oil, mix then add in orange juice Add in sifted flour, baking powder, salt and orange zest Mix till even and set aside Whisk egg whites till big bubbles become small bubbles, add cream of tartar Keep whisking until egg whites become thick, then gradually add in sugar Mix egg whites into egg yolks mixture in 3 batches Slowly pour the mixture into the mould Set oven to 180 degree Celcius and pop the cake in After about 20mins, test if skewer comes out clean, the cake is done. Invert to cool when it’s cool, take out of mould and sprinkle some icing sugar if you like Enjoy with your
