Homemade play dough

Homemade play dough

Good morning!

My children love play dough. They play with it everyday. Besides developing fine motor skill for children, if you provide a little additional extras like boxes, short plastic sticks, penne, leaves… play dough will open many possibilities for them to create and bring to life their imagination. I started by buying from stores but ended up

making play dough at home because it is much better and safer! I referred to this recipe but I often double the quantity and use tea instead of plain water to give the play dough a gentle scent. Oh, one more thing, I can’t do this without my latex disposable gloves! Believe me, you will need them if you don’t wan’t your hands to look like a chameleon afterwards 🙂

Ingredients that I used: 4 cups of all-purpose flour 4 cups of green tea 2 cups of salt 4 Tablespoons of vegetable oil 2 Tablespoons of cream of tartar food coloring

IMG_7193 Prepare all the ingredients IMG_7196 Mix them well and put the pot 2 minutes on medium heat, you need to stir all the time and it’s heavy! IMG_7199 Take out from the pot and form a dough. Be careful, it’s hot! IMG_7200 Divide the dough into equal pieces IMG_7206 Wear the gloves and mix the color you want into each piece of dough IMG_7207 Shape them with or without a mould IMG_7210 Store the dough in boxes. They can be kept for months but my children usually mix all the colors before the dough have the chance to become bad! IMG_7215 Or you can share them with your friends’ children. I am sure they will love it! Playdough Happy play dough making! Love and sunshine, xxx Hang
